Stitching Features

LCD Screen with Easy Stitch Selection
The LCD screen allows you to easily select one of the 70 built-in utility or decorative stitches offered on the CP-7500. It also makes modifying those stitches through stitch functions a breeze. Stitch functions are the additional stitches that can be made from built-in stitches. By either lengthening a stitch, widening it, flipping it, or sewing the mirror image of a stitch, you extend the variety of stitches already included with your sewing machine. With the convenience of the LCD screen you can quickly navigate through the stitch selections to go from a straight stitch to a decorative top-stitch with very little effort. Imagine the professional decorative stitching on hems, collars and cuffs on your homemade clothes.

One-Step Buttonholes
Simple stitch selection also means buttonholes are easier than ever. no more bulky attachments or uneven zigzag stitches. The computerized Brother CP-7500 has easy one-touch buttonholes with the choice of seven different styles. I was so excited when I was finally able to give up guessing the sizing of buttonholes. After I plugged in my Brother sewing machine for the first time, I sat and sewed buttonholes on a scrap of cloth until it was filled.

Additional features

Easy Presser Foot Selection
Another nice benefit of the LCD screen is that the machine will display the presser foot that should be used to properly sew the stitch being selected. This takes a lot of guesswork out of sewing for the beginner and is a nice reminder for the experienced sewist.

7 Point Feed Dogs
Once the stitch is selected the 7 point feed dogs securely move the fabric under the needle. This is one of those features many overlook. Having seven points of contact with the fabric on both sides of the needle gives a smoother finish with less puckering around the stitches. It also means less moving and shifting of the fabric when you are trying to match patterns.

Summary

  • 70 stitches, 110 stitch functions
  • Easy stitch selection on LCD screen
  • Presser foot matched to stitch and displayed on LCD screen
  • One-touch buttonholes with 7 styles from which to choose
  • Seven point feed dogs for secure fabric handling

Convenience

Everything about the Brother CP-7500 screams convenience. From easy stitch selection to automatic bobbin winding, many features of the machine offer an automatic, one-step process.

Automatic Needle Threader
One feature I consider essential on any sewing machine is the automatic needle threader. This simple convenience saves a tremendous amount of eye strain and frustration. No more hunching down in your chair to awkwardly push a thin strand of thread through a tiny hole in a needle. Sit comfortably in your chair and know that many of the tedious, repetitive tasks are automatic with this machine, leaving you free to continue sewing.

Snap-On Presser Feet
If changing thread is a breeze, changing presser feet is even easier. Once selected, simply snap the presser foot into place. Seven are included with the machine. Right out of the box you have the equipment needed to make buttonholes, sew buttons on a garment, stitch monograms and attach a zipper. Presser feet for quilting are an optional purchase, but those for every basic sewing need are included with your purchase.

Variable Speed with One-Touch Start, Stop and Reverse
This is a variable speed machine with one-touch start, stop and reverse operations. Once you set your speed, the foot pedal will not sew any faster. This is very helpful to those of us who tend to be a little heavy footed on the pedal control. Setting the sewing speed keeps you in control of your project and helps prevent mistakes.

With its multiple automated processes and its ample selection of stitches and attachments, the Brother CP-7500 computerized sewing-quilting machine manages to be simple and sophisticated at the same time.

Summary

  • Automated bobbin winding
  • Quick-set, drop-in bobbin
  • Automatic needle threader
  • Snap-on presser feet
  • Variable speed
  • One-touch start, stop and reverse operations

Portability

Carry Handle and Protective Cover
The hard cover and carry handle make this machine easy to set up and then to store when not in use. The cover not only protects your machine from dust, but from other types of damage as well. This is especially important if you do not have a dedicated sewing space and your sewing machine will spend time on the floor or will be stored in a closet.

Sewing Table Attachment
The CP-7500 comes with a convenient table attachment. This is essential when quilting, but also handy for other projects and improves the machine’s portability score. The longer, wider quilting table attachment offers better control over larger projects and makes it easier for you to make just about any space, a sewing space.

Summary

  • Carry handle for portability
  • Hard protective cover – this is not a carrying case
  • Quilting table extension attachment

Reviewer Feedback: (Back To Top)

The features and benefits listed above offer a variety of reasons to purchase the Brother CP-7500, but actual owners of the sewing machine offer other reasons as well. It was hard to find a negative review of this machine that spoke to a common feature in online reviews.

Likes

I must say I’m very impressed with this machine. Very easy to use, love the auto threader and auto start/stop sewing feature. Bobbin is super easy, threading is super ease and there are a multitude of options to enhance a garment. As far as I’m concerned you can’t go wrong with this sewing machine and the price is very, very reasonable.

If you like to sew quilts, consider this machine. Very easy to learn and use. I used a very basic machine for years and thought that was just fine. But after using this machine I realize how easier my crafting would have been. Self threading, bobbin that you can see, more than enough stitch options, quiet, great accessories for quilting, cover — I could go on and on. But truly, a great machine at a very good price. You won’t be disappointed.

Dislikes

The LED light is really not very bright. I have to have ample extra lighting in my work area to see what I am doing, especially when working with same colored material and thread.

Bottom Line

Brother is well known for manufacturing reliable, feature-rich sewing machines at an affordable price. The CP-7500 is no exception. This machine offers a long list of features typically found on expensive models. It has a large number of automatic function making it easy to use for all levels of sewing expertise. It is light, easy to carry and comes with a nice selection of accessories. Most owners of the Brother CP-7500 give enthusiastic, positive reviews and are happy with their purchase.
