Notable Features : (Back To Top)
Stitching Features
100 Stitches
With the easy pull out stitch chart the Singer 7469Q boasts 7 utility stitches, 77 decorative stitches, 6 stretch stitches for sewing on knits, 6 one-step buttonhole stitches, 1 endless buttonhole stitch, even a hand-look quilt stitch. While this isn’t an embroidery machine, the decorative stitch variety will give most sewists plenty of pretty choices for decorating cuffs, collars and pocket edges.
Push Button Stitch Selection
Singer has placed twelve of the most popular stitches on separate buttons under the LCD display. All other stitches are just a click or two away.
Center Zigzag Taper
When tapering into or out of a point, many machines taper to the left or the right which can leave your work looking lopsided or unprofessional. The center taper has a more polished look.
Electronic Stitch Formation
In the Singer 7469Q the stepper motors are digitally controlled so the stitches are uniform and perfectly formed each time. This is especially important when doing a long row of repeating stitch patterns. The pattern will look the same and each stitch will be formed exactly the same at the end as at the beginning.
Stitch Locking Function and Automatic Back Stitch
Anyone who has ever had to stop their progress, rotate the machine needle down, and pivot their fabric just to sew a few stitches to lock in their work knows how convenient this feature is. It’s not only convenient, but helps give your finished work a more professional look. Decorative stitches are polished and seams are strong.
Additional Features
Electronic Twin Needle Control
Switch from single needle sewing to twin needle at the push of a button. Once the needle has been changed the machine will electronically adjust to single or twin needle sewing. Change needles and push a button. It’s as easy as that.
Six Segment Feed Dogs with Box Feed
One of the most overlooked features when buying a sewing machine is the feed system, however it is extremely important to the smooth and even stitching sewists want from their machines. The Singer 7469Q has a special six point feed dog system with box feed that moves the fabric under the needle in a box motion instead of the traditional arc motion. The feed dogs are in equal contact with the fabric and presser foot throughout the entire sewing process assuring straight and even stitches.
Automatic Presser Foot Pressure
Presser feet pressure adjustment is especially important for those using their machines to quilt. For proper feeding of fabric the pressure of the feet should adjust for different fabrics and different thicknesses of fabrics. Automatic adjustment allows you to move from project to project without stopping to adjust pressure each time you change fabric.
Thirteen Needle Positions
Have you ever tried to insert a zipper or apply a trim with a needle that doesn’t adjust to the task? I have and can’t count the number of broken needles and uneven stitches. This machine has a setting for almost any sewing need.
Programmable Needle Up/Down
Being able to program the sewing machine needle to end either in an up or down position can be extremely helpful when working on applique or quilting projects. This is another of those small details that can make a huge difference in how quickly and smoothly you can move through a project.
Extension Table
When sewing machines stopped being sold with cabinets, an extension table became necessary for any machine that is used for large projects like quilts. The 7469Q is sold with substantial sewing table that allows for easier handling of your larger projects.
Snap-On Presser feet
I will no longer buy a machine without snap-on presser feet. There isn’t a lot of room to work under the needle of a sewing machine and I don’t exactly like getting my fingers stuck. Snap-on feet make the task easy and very fast.
Extra High Presser Foot Lifter
This feature is a must-have when sewing through heavy fabrics or multiple layers of fabrics. It allows you to lift the presser foot high enough to accommodate multiple layers of fabric when quilting or hemming heavy pants like blue jeans.

Very Pleased
I received this sewing machine today. I have sewed most of my life and quilted for 21 years, and I love this machine so far. In less than two hours I have tried almost every function, and have understood and mastered just about all. The directions were very clear. The quality of this machine compares to my last machine….a janome. I cannot wait to try the stitches to enhance my quilts!…
Love this machine
I have had my Confidence Quilter for almost 2 years and I LOVE IT! Not one complaint….I am a quilter and I keep it busy. I love the auto needle threader, the easy to follow users guide that comes with it. I was a beginner, self taught…that book is my sewing Bible. I keep it with the machine and it answers any and all questions very clearly. The only “thing” I would change is a brighter light…

I bought this machine to step-up from my beginner Viking machine. I work full time and have a small child, so my time to sew is sparse…about 4hrs per month. The woman at Joann’s convinced me to buy this machine because it could do more than just quilting and it was right for the money. I loved the machine at first. It was smooth and I rarely had bobbin problems. Then one day, 8 months after purchase, I could not get it to work properly. The needle chewed up the bobbin and broke. Took it into the store and discovered the spring popped out. Nothing, I can do but pop the spring back in every few stitches, or pay big bucks to get it fixed…even with a warranty. I cannot recommend this machine. However, if I could do it all over again, I would spend a little more money, do a little more research and get a better machine.Update: figured out how to fix the spring myself for under $10 vs the $100 base fee for looking at the machine and potential $100+ for labor and parts. Found the part online at Sears. Now my machine runs beautifully again.
Bottom Line
The Singer 7469Q is a moderately priced quilting and sewing machine with many of the features found in its much higher priced counterparts. There have been some complaints with timing issues which can happen when transporting sewing machines. It is important to register this machine for warranty and purchase it from a reputable company that has a favorable return policy. The vast majority of owners sing its praises and for the price it has an excellent array of features that will allow you to tackle almost any project.
